Top Ten Tuesday: Characters Iโ€™d Love an Update On

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Have you ever connected so much with certain characters that you felt like they were people you not only could be friends with, but also was your friend? No? Or is that just me?

Either way, this weekโ€™s TTT only makes sense if youโ€™ve developed strong feelings for certain characters in books that make you feel invested in them long after their story (and the last pages of the book) has closed.

While I couldnโ€™t quite reach 10, unless you count the different groups/couplings of characters as individuals, I hope if youโ€™ve read these books, these people have impacted you in some way, shape or form as well.

Letโ€™s begin!

1. Brendan & Cameron

I read this book this year and I absolutely fell in love with this โ€œmeanโ€ girl and the geeky loner boy she unwittingly fell for even though he had every right to hate her for the horrid nickname she gave him that unfortunately stuck throughout the years. I loved their chemistry, how they made each other better in some ways by challenging one another while allowing them to each grow and be themselves. I wouldโ€™ve totally loved to see how they could make their relationship work as they are such different people on paper.

Top Ten Tuesday: Other Books to Read If You Loved These Books

Hi friends! The air is already frosty here and boy, do I not like the hint of snow in November. Iโ€™m just not ready! But in any case, letโ€™s sit back and warm ourselves with some book recommendations.

This week, weโ€™re looking at books that I would recommend if you liked X topic. Seeing as I struggle to find 10 books you generally may like from just one book or narrower topic, I thought Iโ€™d do some meta list for this weekโ€™s topic.

If youโ€™ve been around the blog for a while, you may have noticed Iโ€™ve been doing an โ€œIf You Loved Thisโ€ฆโ€ series for the last few months. While I have plenty of more books and topics Iโ€™ve yet to put out, here is the collection of posts Iโ€™ve done for this series so far.

1. If you loved A Good Girlโ€™s Guide to Murder

Because itโ€™s fast-paced, smartly written and features crazy plot twists and a cold case thatโ€™s suddenly piping hot,โ€ฆ

Then youโ€™ll love:

Top Ten Tuesday: Memorable Characters

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Good morning everyone! I canโ€™t believe itโ€™s Tuesday again already. I feel like last week held so many things all at once for me so it kind of went by fast and slow at the same time. I dyed my hair for the first time ever (ahh!!) and Iโ€™m loving it. And I got to go to the drive in theater with my dog and it was just the best time. So itโ€™s been a good week overall for me.

But onto books! This weekโ€™s TTT was initially Memorable Things Characters Have Said butโ€ฆI never remember quotes very well, let alone what people say, so I will have to go with simply โ€œmemorableโ€ characters who have stuck out to me all these years amidst the many books Iโ€™ve read.

1. Nancy Drew

We all know (I think) this famous young sleuth, but I grew up reading those iconic yellow spine hardcovers as a child and I wanted to BE Nancy. Sheโ€™s daring and has the most intriguing adventures with her friends, which never ends badly for them it seems. Why wouldnโ€™t I want to be her growing up?
