Top Ten Tuesday: 21st Century Books I Feel Will Become Classics

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I would first like to put a HUGE disclaimer that these are just my opinions, and Iโ€™m solely basing them on popularity of the books. I would like to think if a book were to become a classic, it has to have gained enough notoriety to withstand the time factor. It canโ€™t just be a momentary hype. It has to bring audiences back to it over and over again. Or at least know of it and talk about it.

That being said, I donโ€™t necessarily think all of these books are ones Iโ€™ve enjoyed as 5-star reads, but they are well known in their genre among a wide audience. Theyโ€™re not necessarily all literary geniuses but they became popular for a reason, am I right?

Iโ€™m always happy to discuss your thoughts on my selection in the comments below.

So letโ€™s begin!

Sci-Fi/Dystopian

The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

Propelling Jennifer Lawrence into the mega star she is, itโ€™s hard to forget Katniss and this horrid world she lives in where children are randomly drawn to fight to the death. Itโ€™s definitely a series that spark interesting conversations , or even used as English essay analyses which I actually had to do in class.

I thought this weekโ€™s list would be one of the easiest but do you ever encounter some mind blocks when trying to actively create a list of titles?

According to Dictionary.com, adjectives are any words that modify nouns or pronouns by primarily describing a particularly quality of the word. These can also include other nouns if they are used to describe nouns.

So here are some that have come to mind after some scrounging around. I have included colours and numbers because those totally count in such contexts!

Top Ten Tuesday: Books on my Spring 2022 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Normally I take this time for such a TTT topic to highlight all the releases I know I want to get my hands on on release day. Yet, I find that I rarely actually get to all (if most) of them during the season of their release. Iโ€™m such a mood reader, go figure.

So to make this a little more truthful (and hopefully self-fulfilling), Iโ€™m splitting the books on my TBR into books I want to read ASAP upon release this spring AND books I own that really need to be read (and I actually want to read yet always have excuses for reading something else first). Does anyone else have this problem?

Books I own that need to be read
