Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
This week’s TTT is all about bookstores, however I had to tweak the original prompt a bit which asked for the Top Ten favourite bookstores I’d like to visit. While I’d love to visit other bookstores, I don’t particularly have a specific list I’d want to visit.
So instead, this week I’m focusing on books that feature bookstores in their plots. As a former bookseller, I am very fond of bookstores and the people we meet there. I’m always super happy to come across a book where bookstores may be the setting or a major plot point in the story.
Let me know if you’ve read any of these, or if you can come up with some titles I’ve missed!

- Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley
- Last Chance Books by Kelsey Rodkey
- Recommended for You by Laura Silverman
- Dash & Lily’s Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan
- The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George
- The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
- The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin
- Booked on a Feeling by Jayci Lee
- The Bookshop of Second Chances by Jackie Fraser
- The Little Bookshop of Promises by Debbie Macomber
Do you have a favourite book featuring a bookstore? I’d love to hear your recommendations!

Now THAT’S a great twist and probably deadly to my TBR – I thought this was going to be a “safe” week. 🙂 I’ve only read one – Little Paris Bookshop. Think I’ll be reading more….. Have a great week and find time to read a good book.

Great minds think alike! I did a similar twist this week. From your list, I’ve read The Bookish Life of Nina Hill. But I do have a few others on my TBR as well.

Thanks Emily! It’s always so lovely to read a book about fellow book lovers in whatever capacity. Even more relatable and almost a meta feeling

I agree 🙂 And I haven’t seen that many around. I think that they are gradually becoming more popular.

I loved The Last Bookshop In London! I remember saying in my review that I wished Primrose Hill Books was a real shop because I wanted to go visit it.

I didn’t know you used to be a bookseller. What an interesting job!
I worked in a college bookstore once and thought it was cool to look through the textbooks when we were slow.
