Top Ten Tuesday: Favourite Words

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Hey everyone, thankfully this week’s TTT is short because I’m currently sick with COVID. Finally managed to catch up with me after 2 years. So this post will be short and sweet.

There’s probably a pattern to my favorite words, but I love all the following based on how it sounds but also its meaning.

1. Requiem – any musical service, hymn, or dirge for the repose of the dead.

2. Solitude – the state of being or living alone; seclusion

3. Serenity – the state or quality of being serene, calm, or tranquil; sereneness

4. Transcendence – the quality or state of being transcendent (going beyond ordinary limits; surpassing; exceeding)

5. Celestial – pertaining to the sky or visible heaven, or to the universe beyond the earth’s atmosphere

6. Serendipity – an aptitude for making desirable discoveries by accident

7. Solace – comfort in sorrow, misfortune, or trouble; alleviation of distress or discomfort

8. Reverie – a state of dreamy meditation or fanciful musing

9. Valiant – boldly courageous; brave

10. Provenance – place or source of origin

That’s a wrap. Let me know if you like the sounds or meanings of any of these words. Also, it probably subconsciously says a lot about me.
