August 2022 Wrap Up and TBR

Whoa, where did the time go? I am going to be totally upfront with you all and tell you this is going to be one SUPER short wrap up this month because…

…I only finished one book 😅 Which is highly unusual for me but I’ve been spending every weekend and certain weeknights catching up with friends and family. You gotta have these months, right?

Plus, I had a wonderful time with The Alice Experience (which is documented here). As you may be able to tell from this blog, I do have a little thing for Alice in Wonderland.

I also got to meet a wonderful author at Fan Expo last weekend which I will document soon in a post, plus I won a wonderful giveaway from a certain author I’ve admired for a long time. This post will come out soon with all the details, I promise!

It’s been a busy month full of book-adjacent events but let’s get onto what I did read…which is few and far between.

What did I read this month?

It’s a little sad up there alone, but yes, I only read The Weight of Blood, a Carrie retelling of sorts but with a deep look at systemic racism in a small town steeped in generational racism as a legacy.

Rating: 2.5 Drink Me Potions

Current reading list

At least this list is a LITTLE more exciting.

  • Spells for Lost Things by Jenna Evans Welch
  • Wishtress by Nadine Brandes

TBR list

  • Gallant by VE Schwab
  • Seoulmates by Susan Lee
  • Love on the Brain by Ali Hazelwood

Here’s to hoping September brings a balance of reading and life! Hope you all had a lovely August.

  1. I think spending all your time with friends and family is amazing!! The only bad thing about this is that you didn’t love the one book you read!! I hope you have an amazing September! ❤

  2. Catching up friends and participating in book adjacent activities sounds like a lot of fun and it seems like you had a great time which is definitely more important than reading! 😉 Too bad the only book you read this month wasn’t a winner, though I hope you’re enjoying your current read. Spells for Lost Things is on my radar and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it! Have a great September, Andge! 💜
