March 2022 Wrap Up and TBR

It’s been such a busy month for me. I’ve been getting back outside and busily volunteering at a conference for teenagers (all in a safe manner with COVID precautions).

I’ve had so much fun this month, definitely a breath of fresh air from my normal routine, but it also means that I barely had time or the energy to read.

So this wrap up will be shorter but I hope you enjoy nonetheless!

What did I read this month?

Novellas can be sexy!: Even with its shorter length, who said a romantic novella can’t contain a whole and beautiful love story? Under One Roof was able to do that and showcase more STEM women front and centre. I definitely need to explore more novellas!

Most surprising: Lucy Foley is a mystery writing star so to say that the first piece I’ve read from her didn’t hit 5 stars was a little surprising, in the not so great way. Needless to say, I’ll still explore more from her but The Hunting Party just wasn’t as I expected.

New author: Definitely excited to have been introduced to JC Peterson in a story with plenty of literary references. Being Mary Bennet recently released this month! To describe it in 3 cryptic words: dogs, Lizzie, and Gilbert. You can expect a review coming out soon.

Graphic novel highlight: Quiet Girl in a Noisy World literally had me shouting “that’s me!” Half the time. The introverted life drawn out in comic glory is exactly what I didn’t know I needed. Debbie Tung has made graphic novels that feel like I’m seen and understood.

Book 2 better than book 1?: That’s not always the case but it sure happened for Sense and Second-Degree Murder. Sisterhood, science and the wonderful murderous twist to a Jane Austen classic can really do that to you.
