Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Tuesday morning again and I’m feeling like this week has been so long already! How have your weekends been? I know it’s been some ups and downs, especially with the world news taking over my feed. So let’s keep this week’s TTT simple, short and sweet. How would you answer the question below:
What are the places you most like to read in?
Do you need time to think about it? Do you think I’m being too basic and need some new options for reading? Let me know in the comments below.
1. Bed
Definitely my #1. I love being comfy and cozy when I read, and I especially get cold quite easily so my bed is always a wonderful place to cuddle up with a good book in hand.
2. Reading chair by the window
Is this just me? Or do you find a nice reading chair to read by the light of a window the best aesthetic? I used to have one in my room and the perfect window to sit next to. But if I could upgrade this option, I would absolutely LOVE a long bench nestled in a round window. I think this would be called a reading nook? (Correct me if I’m wrong). But that is the dream.
3. Outside on a picnic blanket
I’m becoming more of a lover of picnic blankets to lie outside. I’m also not adverse to a cute and comfortable lawn chair but the picnic blanket is easier to lie down on. Unfortunately I sun burn (forget tanning) easily so outdoor reading is a little less for me, but if I did want to, this would be the way I would go. Plus, it’s also perfect for holding all the snacks I want to munch on while reading!
4. A couch with blankets
And when I want something in between that combines all of the things above, then a good couch (with blankets of course!) is perfect as well.

Normally, I read in my recliner…but I think that my favorite is in a bookstore, especially if they have a fireplace!

I sunburn really easily, too, so I have to be careful whenever I spend time outdoors but especially when I’m reading since I ten to lose track of time 🙂 I can’t tell you how many burns I’ve gotten from reading outdoors, one of the reasons I rarely do it these days and NEVER in full sun.
