Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Good morning friends! I hope it’s a lovely Tuesday wherever you are, and maybe it is starting to feel like spring out there for you. Spring is my absolute favourite season. I always feel like there is just something in the air that smells like rebirth as all the green starts blooming again.
In line with these thoughts, today’s TTT showcases books we are excited for this spring. I have chosen to solely pick books on my TBR that are coming out this rest of March until May. Let me know if you are excited for any of these up and coming novels in the comments below!
1. With You All the Way by Cynthia Hand (March 30)
Relationships, familial or romantic, and their complications in another contemporary by Cynthia Hand that focuses on consent and the fall-out from cheating – just sign me up already!
2. Bone Crier’s Dawn by Kathryn Purdie (March 30)
Second book in her explosive duology, I’m excited to see how the two fierce best friends (who are total badasses) will save each other and the guy(s) they love
3. The Cost of Knowing by Brittney Morris (April 6)
More Black culture, visions of a loved one’s death in the future, and a race against time to do something about it – I cannot wait for the next book by Brittney Morris who dominated with her debut Slay
4. The Serpent’s Curse by Lisa Maxwell (April 13)
Time travel, individuals with magical powers and a big bad guy to stop that has invaded the guy she loves? I cannot wait for this next installment in the Last Magician series (though slightly gutted it’s become a 4-book deal because MORE waiting)
5. What’s Not to Love by Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka (April 20)
An enemies-to-lovers trope featuring competitive school rivals (who said being smart isn’t sexy?) in this latest contemporary by Wibbroka (a real life couple!) is everything I need like right NOW
6. Take Me Home Tonight by Morgan Matson (May 4)
Described as a Ferris Bueller’s Day Off kind of plot line + two best friends having a crazy adventure in NYC for one night + authored by Morgan Matson = say no more, I must get my hands on this!
7. Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard (May 4)
Another high fantasy from acclaimed author Victoria Aveyard with a band of unlikely heroes facing off some deadly foe – it might sound like absolutely every other fantasy you know but I have hope it still may be epic
8. Sunkissed by Kasie West (May 4)
I honestly read most anything Kasie writes, but this cute story about spending the summer with your family at a camp (and with a dash of romance, of course) sounds like perfect summer escapism to me
9. Illusionary by Zoraida Cordova (May 11)
Book 2 in a historical fantasy filled with betrayal at the hands of the people you called family and a potential love triangle (I’m on the fence on this point), I’m too far gone after book 1 to not finish this
10. Don’t Breathe a Word by Jordyn Taylor (May 18)
Boarding school, secret societies, a mystery spanning decades and alternating POVs with one in the 1960s, what more could I ask for? And none other than the amazing Jordyn Taylor at the helm of this one
Sunkissed sounds like great fun. I hope you enjoy them all.

I was only okay about Incendiary but I’d like to read Illusionary to see how things end.

I actually feel the same way! I didn’t love Incendiary as much as others did but I do want to know what ends up happening.

It’s different from Brittney’s first book but I’m excited to see her magical realism take
