Top Ten Tuesday: Special Edition Books I Want to Own

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This weekโ€™s topic was originally โ€œBookish merchandise Iโ€™d love to ownโ€ but since I donโ€™t care as much for cute knickknacks, Iโ€™ve decided to focus solely on special edition books Iโ€™ve seen before and wished to have had the chance to open. You know these things get you because theyโ€™re exclusive and super limited in stock.

Disclaimer: I will be advertising a number of different businesses in my following list but I am not affiliated with any of them or receiving any compensation for such advertisement. Iโ€™m purely putting them out there because I love the work theyโ€™ve done!

OwlCrate: White Once Upon a Broken Heart cover

Current availability: In stock on website (not too many copies available)

I love the pink exclusive edition from Barnes & Noble/Indigo which I have (and even the original black cover), but thereโ€™s something very pleasing about this white version too. But I have a weird thing about buying the same book twice (spacing issues, you know?) so obviously I had to just pick one.

Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Havenโ€™t Read But Want To

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Like it is with TBRs, there is a never-ending line of authors I want to read and get to know but for some reason just never got around to doing that. It really has nothing to do with them personally. I’m such a mood reader that it makes it hard to pick up some genre of books when I’m not particularly up for it. Plus, I borrow so many books or get them from publishers that I’m “forced” to read those kinds of books over ones that don’t have such a time requirement to them.

So here is my list of authors with at least 1+ books I wanted to read but just havenโ€™t yet.

Huntley Fitzpatrick

First and foremost, I wanted to highlight Huntley’s works. I regret not having fully read through one of her novels although I distinctly remember going as far as borrowing one of her books for a solid month back in the early 2010s. I am saddened by her recent passing but I know she leaves behind parts of herself in the books she wrote.

Top Ten Tuesday: Fiction Books With “Life” in the Title

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

It’s officially April! The sun is shining more brightly, the weather is almost nice enough to go out on longer bike rides, and I feel some renewed sense of adventure stirring inside of me.

Needless to say, spring is my absolute favourite season of the year. Yes, I like to think my growing seasonal allergies are worth the beauty and wonder of exploring the outdoors as things grow anew again after a long and temperamental winter.

With that in mind, for this week’s freebie TTT topic, I chose to focus on a theme related to new chapters or at least an appreciation of some of the good in our lives. While it’s fairly easy to find non-fictional books with the word “life” in its title – literally just think of most memoirs or self-help books aimed to better your life – it’s less commonly found in fictional titles so I have sought to create a collection of these.

Hopefully some of these stories may bring this sense of renewal and vitality in your life as we mull over the struggles and new beginnings some of these characters face.
