Top Ten Tuesday: Books on my Summer 2021 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Good morning everyone! I hope the sun is shining brightly on you all today and youโ€™re not as weary eyed as I am struggling to get up and continue my training. But aside from the tiredness, I hope you have all been excited for summer (if it is summer in your hemisphere, otherwise winter if thatโ€™s the case!). I most look forward to a slower pace generally, and some time to catch up on great reading.

Which is coincidentally perfect as always to highlight some of the upcoming books in the summer that I am looking forward to in todayโ€™s TTT.

Are you ready?

Top Ten Tuesday: Books I Loved and Wanted More Of

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Hello friends! Itโ€™s been one hectic week for me, and Iโ€™m not sure the new job will slow down any time soon. While this may mean Iโ€™ll be more sporadic on the blog here, I always look forward to Tuesdays for TTT.

This week I am highlighting books/series I loved so much that I wished there were more books to this world to continue living the stories of these beloved characters. Whether it be to walk alongside people Iโ€™ve grown to love like they are real (letโ€™s be honest, these characters sometimes feel more real to us than real people in our lives, donโ€™t they?) or to sightsee a wondrous, fantastical land that is so vivid to us by the authorโ€™s descriptions, I enjoyed all these 5 star reads so much that I would love to relive it all over again for the first time if I could.

Let me know if any of these books/series would land in your list too!

1. The Gilded Wolves series by Roshani Chokshi

I would love to hunt artifacts with this gang, plus thereโ€™s just something about the historical time setting that always makes my heart wish to see what it wouldโ€™ve been like to experience it firsthand (for just a moment though, because I do like my sanitation and cell phone).

Top Ten Tuesday: Forgettable Book Adaptations

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Hi friends! Itโ€™s been a long yesterday, starting with a new job. We will see how much reading I can do this month considering Iโ€™m still adjusting with a nearly-overwhelming amount of new information.

Todayโ€™s TTT is a freebie topic. Iโ€™ll be sharing some YA book adaptations that may not be as memorable among the many that have been produced over the last decade or so. After all, there have been a number of box office successes (whether they were truly loved by the masses or not).

Among these include movies such as Twilight, Divergent and The Hunter Games franchises. If weโ€™re throwing in TV series, we have shows like The Vampire Diaries, Shadowhunters, and the recently successful Netflix series Shadow & Bone. The number of adaptations from YA books are increasing, even with the most recent release of the Amazon Prime series Panic. With streaming platforms potentially changing the ability to make a profit off of book adaptations, I have a feeling we will only be seeing more in the future.

These others below are a little older and have therefore fallen between the cracks a little in our memory banks in the old system of movie releases or cable TV options. But, they deserve a little attention too. Hopefully youโ€™ll find something of interest to watch in case you havenโ€™t seen them before.

Without further ado, letโ€™s begin!
