Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Morning, lovelies! I have had a good long weekend, and feel a bit more well-rested for this short work week. This week contained a bit of a hard topic for me. I personally don’t love throwing away books, and I would normally not read a book if I felt like I wouldn’t like it much.
So this week is a shorter list as I couldn’t quite hit 10. If you happen to like some of these books, I am sorry we do not see eye to eye about them. I have compiled the titles I either gave a 1 star rating (which I rarely ever do), or books I own/have finished reading but just could not bear to keep them or ever re-read them.
- Mortal Danger by Ann Aguirre
- The Shadows Between Us by Tricia Levenseller
- The Kissing Booth by Beth Reekles
- Dracula by Bram Stoker
- Hush Hush (series) by Becca Fitzpatrick
- A Case for Jamie by Brittany Cavallaro
- Seven Black Diamonds by Melissa Marr
- Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
So yes, here are the books I could do without. They just were not my particular cup of tea. But that is okay if they were yours. I know I have some unpopular opinions up there, but it is what it is for me.
Hope you all have a great rest of the week. Until next time!
Good for you for knowing your limits!
I liked Dracula, but the writing style and plot definitely aren’t for everyone. 🙂

Go ahead and toss away. Or pop them in my Little Free Library!

Oh yes! I love looking out for little set-up libraries in a neighborhood. I always think better to give it to someone who’d like it than waste it in my shelf. Great idea 😊

I really liked the Hush, Hush series when I was in high school, but I’m pretty sure if I went back and read it today I would cringe big time, like I did when I re-read the Gemma Doyle trilogy.
Dracula will forever be one of my favorites, though!

lol yes i read it when I was in high school in all its hype but even then something was a little cringey. I’m glad you like Dracula though. It’s just not my cup of tea for a classic 😅

I didn’t make it to A Case For Jamie because I wasn’t a big fan of the first book in that series.

lol same! I don’t know why I pushed myself in book 2 either. I really didn’t feel it even in book 1

I do often read Book 2 in a series because I like to give them a chance, but I never got around to it with this series and I now I don’t think I ever will.

I somehow forced myself through the first 2 Hush Hush books. I don’t know why I bothered.

Haha same! I think since I read it when I was young and it was popular. I forced myself to read all 4. Then let my bf make art out of book #2 (which I’d normally find sacrilegious for a book but I guess not this one 😅)
